Listed below are scholarship opportunities that the Counseling Office is made aware of.  There are many more scholarships out there – they just require some extra work to seek them out.  Students are encouraged to visit www.fastweb.com and bigfuture.collegeboard.org to research two of the largest, most reputable, and free online scholarship search engines.  Please do not ever pay a fee to apply for a scholarship.  The legitimate ones are completely free.

Lake Michigan Credit Union Lloyd Hutt Scholarship All applicants must be high school seniors (includes home school students) and plan to enter a trade school, college or university in the next academic year.  Students are required to respond to an essay prompt. Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation Scholarship The Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) is offering scholarship opportunities for technology-focused high school seniors, GET-IT club high school seniors, and women who will be enrolled full-time in college-level courses for the 2018-2019 academic year at a Michigan university Information and Application up to $5000 year for 4 years January 31, 2018

Haworth Skilled Trades Scholarship Open to seniors who plan to enroll in a  two-year skilled trade/vocational program in Tool & Die, Machine Repair, Electrician Training, CNC Programming, Model Making, or Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning Application $2000 February 14, 2018
Michigan Education Association Scholarship This scholarship is open to seniors who are dependent children of an MEA or MEA-Retired member in good standing.  Applicants must be planning to attend a public institution in Michigan (with a few select private school options, too).  Priority is given to students based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, school/community service, income level  www.mea.org/mea-scholarship  $1500 February 22, 2018
Community Choice Foundation Scholarship Available to high school seniors who:

  • Currently attend a high school located in Michigan
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Have a strong record of service to their communities through volunteerism or public service
  • Plan to pursue a two or four-year degree at a Michigan college or university
  • Desire to live and work in Michigan after attaining a college degree

MANY local scholarships available through the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area Over 50 local scholarships are available to Zeeland East and West High School students through the Community Foundation. www.cfhz.org/scholarships

Precision Metalforming Association Scholarship Available to seniors who plan to pursue a career in the metalforming industry.  Deadline has been extended to March 15. PMA Scholarship $1000 yr. for 2 yrs. March 15, 2018
Hispanic Scholarship Fund Open to high school seniors of Hispanic heritage who have at least a 3.0 GPA with plans to enroll full time in an accredited 4 year college.  Applicants must file the FAFSA. https://www.hsf.net/scholarship
