Listed below are scholarship opportunities that the Counseling Office is made aware of.  There are many more scholarships out there – they just require some extra work to seek them out.  Students are encouraged to visit and to research two of the largest, most reputable, and free online scholarship search engines.  Please do not ever pay a fee to apply for a scholarship.  The legitimate ones are completely free.

 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Open to seniors.  Based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. up to $50,000 (500 scholarships in various amounts will be given out) November 27, 2017
Michigan Elks Association Gold Key Scholarship This scholarship is open to senior special needs students who desire to continue their education beyond high school.

NALS of Michigan Scholarship Open to seniors who plan to pursue a course of study in the legal field, who have at least a B high school average, and demonstrate financial need. Information

 Elks Legacy Award This scholarship is for children and grandchildren of Elks members $4000 (a total of 300 awards will be given) February 2, 2018
 Michigan Education Association Scholarship This scholarship is open to seniors who are dependent children of an MEA or MEA-Retired member in good standing.  Applicants must be planning to attend a public institution in Michigan (with a few select private school options, too).  Priority is given to students based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, school/community service, income level  $1500 February 22, 2018
Hispanic Scholarship Fund Open to high school seniors of Hispanic heritage who have at least a 3.0 GPA with plans to enroll full time in an accredited 4 year college.  Applicants must file the FAFSA.

 Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation Scholarship  Open to high school seniors who plan to attend college, university, trade or tech school full time upon graduation.  One’s family does NOT need to be a member of the masonic lodge to participate.  Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation Scholarship  up to $1500 contact the local Holland lodge for deadline details
